The start of Open for Art 19 18th May to 2nd June
The Launch at Sculpture by the Lake
What a fabulous day with hundreds of visitors coming to see this lovely venue and meet the artists taking part in Open for Art – demonstrating, painting and sketching en plein air and those with stalls showing their work.
Preparing my Studio for Open for Art
What a mad rush to get everything ready for Open Studios in time. I completed my latest textile picture on the Friday after an extra couple of late nights and early mornings. It’s my biggest and most complex design measuring 31 by 23 inches. I’m really pleased with it but now need to frame it.
Lots of visitors and sales on the first day, Saturday.
Poundbury Duchy Exhibition
Took time off from my studio to visit the ribbon-cutting ceremony here on Saturday. Canapes on the lawn too, served by the local WI group and Emma from Bonjour Café. All so well organised and attended. Exhibition looked spectacular, very varied and interesting. I was thrilled to see an entry by Prince Charles of a watercolour. Really chuffed to say he is one of our contributing Open for Art artists.
Where is my work during Open for Art 18th May to 2nd June?
It’s in my studio, spilling over to sitting room and garden beach shack at 1A Shepherds Croft Portland DT51DJ
