An exciting road trip to Copenhagen
On an exciting road trip to Copenhagen via Channel Tunnel to take Ellies stuff across.
First time driving on the right so quite an adventure. We stopped overnight in Dunkerque, France and again in Bremen, Germany. Once we arrived in Denmark the land became more interesting with gentle rise and fall undulations (hills?) We were awe-inspired by the huge majestic bridges spanning the islands. A stop in the charming Odense gave us a flavour of the delightful architecture and bicycle culture we could expect in the much larger but equally beautiful Copenhagen.
Lots of lovely family time and catch-up once we reached our destination and then Neil and I nipped out on our own back to the much photographed Nyhavn area of the city where the multi-coloured buildings butt up against one of the lovely waterways. We only had a quarter of an hour parking, so we separated, and each took photos all around the area. I was particularly struck by the numerous padlocks fastened to the bridge.
